Breweries & Cideries

It's not just about wine. Please don't forget the beer and cider! Oregon has the most microbreweries of any state in the nation. It is home to more than 185 breweries operating over 220 facilities. As the Oregon Craft Beer Association says, "So many beers, so little time."

Breweries local to us in McMinnville:

• Allegory Brewery

Cideries are a fast-burgeoning feature in the Northwest scene. We should know, as we are part owners of Xylem Cider Works, which we strongly recommend (imagine that). The varieties of ciders are expanding rapidly, and cider masters seem to be eager to outdo beer and wine for imaginative flavors and styles.

In Yamhill County:

• Deception Brewing in Dundee
• Carlton Cyderworks
• Xylem Cider Works is a bit farther away in Sherwood which by the way is en route to and from the Portland Airport. So grab some en route to or from Bella Collina B&B.
